The Best of 2025: Powered by Love

There's a line from an old poem about children that speaks of roots and wings, and it runs through my mind at odd moments, like while watching my baby learn to walk and hold a pencil, like her big sister, (who might be standing on her head or dreaming up a new story about an otter, a koala, or a trip to the beach). Truth be told, it even happens when everything seems to be exploding (imploding?) around me and I still have to make dinner, wondering "Am I doing any of this right?!" Because during those times, when I'm learning to accept my own foibles along this journey, it really hits home that love -- in all its messy and confounding states -- really is the answer to any problem or challenge. 

So, about that little poem, with a message that is so simple and yet, so powerful? I've come to realize how its truth extends to love stories everywhere, because love is all about giving each other roots for grounding and wings to continue growing, to become the best version of ourselves. I am so blessed to have met so many beautiful couples this past year, to learn about their journeys and experiences, and to document their love stories through a collection of timeless moments that will become cherished memories, passed down for years to come.

Each wedding and elopement has represented a completely unique and unforgettable celebration of the joining of two hearts and their families, both original or chosen, in settings that represent their vision for one of the most important days of their lives, which have spanned vineyards, beaches, boutique hotels and inns, Washington DC landmarks, and even a castle. I have loved each and every one and consider it an honor to have been a part of them all. Special thanks to my trusted friends and second photographers, Pete, Kathy, Ken, and Jorge who always help to make the magic!

Most of all, to all my couples this past year, thank you for trusting me and sharing your love stories with me. I hope you will enjoy this 2025 highlight reel -- you were there!
