We want to share a secret with you:

If you want to feel more relaxed and confident on your wedding day, schedule an Engagement Session. Engagement Sessions are a great way for us to get to know each other and for you to become more comfortable having your photographer around. For us: we know that to  truly "see" a person, we have to listen ... and that means spending some time getting to know you and what matters most to you. For you: think of an engagement photo session as a gift to yourselves for your wedding day, so you will have complete peace of mind when it matters most, secure in the knowledge that your photographer will capture what makes the two of you uniquely wonderful.

    MEANINGFUL LOCATIONS

Now, you may be thinking, "We don't need any more photos of the two of us," and we totally understand. You may, however, want to consider having photos in a couple of favorite places that hold special meaning or significance to the two of you: think first dates, places you discovered together or introduced to each other, perhaps telling the story of your journey as a couple. These are the photos that will make meaningful Save the Dates, fit perfectly on your wedding website, and work beautifully for your guest book. Many of our couples even choose to have some of their photos framed for their home, which you can learn more about here.

It also goes without saying that there is no substitute for having extra practice in front of a camera, especially while working with a professional who can guide you through some subtle movement options can bring out your best selves and achieve even more fantastic photos.

Some location ideas: if you're looking for stunning natural beauty, you might consider a National Park setting, at sunrise or sunset to avoid tourists. Maybe you'd prefer a more modern or contemporary backdrop, which works beautifully as well. You might want to consider places that offer clean lines and few distractions in the background. If you don't have a particular place in mind, let's talk through how you want your photos to look and what you would like to wear, which can help focus your decision. We have a list of our favorite spots to share with you.

We hope you enjoy looking through some of our favorite Engagement Sessions -- to schedule yours, please get in touch! We would love to hear from you.

      1) Stay Hydrated! In the few days leading up to your session, remember to drink a lot of water, which will make your skin look more luminous and prevent your eyes from looking puffy.

      2) Sleep! Try to get a good night's sleep (or two) before your photo session. This goes along with staying hydrated: you want to look and feel your best!

      3) Pick Your Outfit in Advance -- and don't forget shoes: Choose clothing that will make you look and feel like your best self. Remember: your iron is your best friend! A floppy collar or wrinkled dress can ruin your photos.
